Month 2, Day 27 of this Writing in Public challenge.
Day Eight of the new novel called Against Time.
Not going to be a large day today because I am posting this early. Got a monster storm and very early storm hitting the coast tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. So computer and power could get interesting.
Plus I spent a bunch of time doing other fun stuff today. You know, a guy’s got to play some. (grin)
Anyhow, got up around 2:30 p.m., managed to make it through almost no e-mail and to the snail mail and to the office by 4:00 p.m. even with a stop at Bob’s Bookstore. There I worked on workshop stuff and a new lecture until around 6 p.m.
Home for the standard nap with the white cat, dinner, dishes, and then back to WMG Publishing to get workshop stuff done by 8 p.m.. And I finished up the new lecture that if the weather allows, I’ll post and announce this weekend. It’s a fun one.
I also got playing with some collectable books and ended up bringing a box home to sort.
Made it home by 11:00 p.m., did a quick session of about 800 words, then headed to the basement to watch some television.
Back up to my writing computer by 1:30 a.m. I did another two sessions of about 1,000 words each in about 40 minutes each, with a break between them. Then I started playing with the collectable books I had brought home. One thing I have is a very rare #412-of-500 9-book set of Arthur Machen fiction, 1923 first editions, in near mint condition, signed in 1923. I was sort of stunned when I discovered they were signed. (grin) Going to show Bob those tomorrow.
Anyhow, the wind really kicked up while I was playing with books, so figured I had better call it a night and get this done.
So 2,800 words on the novel is all. But still a fun day.
Now if the storm doesn’t cut off power too much this weekend, I’ll make a run at putting some words on the book.
