Month 3, Day 9 of this Writing in Public challenge.
I rolled out of bed around 2 after a second good night’s sleep in a row. Did some e-mail and was up at the Anchor Hotel by around 4 p.m. to turn in the room assignments for the upcoming Science Fiction Workshop here on the coast.
They had four kittens about six weeks old they were trying to find homes for. I managed to escape without a kitten, but it was close.
Then off to the snail mail and back to WMG Publishing where I worked on fun stuff with both Allyson and Jerimy for a couple of hours, then after a stop at the grocery store I got home a little after 6 p.m.
Nap with Walter White Kitty (who would have hated a new kitten), then dinner, news, dishes, and back into this office to do workshop stuff. Last big night of the cross-over workshops. I worked on it until after midnight when Kris handed me a new novel to read. (She’ll tell you what it is when she is ready, so don’t ask me. (grin)) We went to the basement to watch some television around 12:30 a.m..
I got back into this office around 1:30 a.m. and finished up the last of the workshop stuff by 2:30 a.m. Then I moved over to my writing computer and started dinging around, seeing what would strike me to write next. I ended up finding a proposal for a novel I sent off and didn’t sell about five years ago that I liked. It’s called Sleepwalker. I dinged at it and the proposal and added about 500 words to the second chapter of the thing before I decided I really didn’t want to start that now.
Went back to this internet computer and started to work on chapter six of Killing the Sacred Cows of Publishing. Then back over to my writing computer to come up with a title for a short story to start. By that point it was getting close to 4 a.m. and I need to be up at noon tomorrow. So decided to call it a night.
So I got a ton done, just not a lot of new fiction writing today. But that will change tomorrow and Friday as I gear back up.
