Month 3, Day 12 of this Writing in Public challenge.
Got nine hours of sleep once again last night, not crawling out today until almost 3:30 p.m. which is late for me. Just never woke up and Kris let me sleep.
Kris was headed out to get herself some take-out lunch as I was getting out of bed, so she brought me a Burger King cheeseburger and fries for breakfast. (Yeah, I know, and I don’t flipping care.)
I sat and watched the Duck’s game with Washington for about an hour (Recorded Oregon Ducks football game since it started at 1 p.m.. Kris and I lived in Eugene for seven years and became Duck’s fans. Plus, as the #2 team in the country, they are fun to watch.)
I then went off to the snail mail and up to the WMG offices. I got a cover done there for one of the short stories in Smith’s Monthly #2. When I get a few of them done, I’ll put them here.
Home by 7:30 p.m. for dinner. No nap. Went back to work around 8:30 p.m. and started a short story, but barely made 200 words before I gave up and went downstairs with the white cat to take a nap. I slept for about an hour until 11 p.m., then spent two hours watching television. (Sounds like a day off, doesn’t it? A football game and a nap and hours of television. Guess I needed the time down, huh?)
Got back up here in the office around 1:30 a.m. and went back to the short story. By 3:30 a.m. I had 2,200 words on the story called “I Killed Adam Chaser.” I’ll finish it tomorrow. Not a clue where it is going. Not clue one. None.
I started it by smashing parts of two titles together. …Chaser and I Killed… Both from old mystery magazines.
So 2,200 new fiction words and one cover done and it felt like a day off.
And yes, the Duck’s game was a good one.
