Schedule for workshops: Fall 2010 and Spring 2011
I got a couple of requests for a simple workshop schedule. Here it is. For more information about each workshop, either go down two posts or click on the Workshop tab above.
All workshops are held in Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast, two hours from Portland, Oregon. These workshops range over different skill levels and a few have limitations, so please read the full descriptions following carefully and feel free to ask questions. We have tried to schedule some workshops close together to save on travel costs. All rooms are reserved for you automatically when you sign up, so no need to worry about that either. You just pay for your room when you arrive. I will not take money ahead on the rooms.
Feel free to pass this along to anyone you feel might be interested.

Have you thought of creating clinics of each workshop and selling them as ebooks? Or setting up a web course? Just a suggestion.
I’m doing the Killing the Sacred Cows chapters as a course, Kris is doing her weekly Freelancer’s guide. The rest we will keep here because, to be honest, part of the selection process is those who can find a way to get here. It means they really want to push their writing forward. Kris and I have always believed that making some sacrifices for your writing is important. We keep the workshops cheap in comparison to other workshops, and we give you your money’s worth, trust me on that. Plus you get to meet and be around other writers, which is also critical and where much of the learning comes from.
And also the networking that comes after the workshops. That has turned out to be a critical part of these workshops as well.
Internet is fine and dandy for so much. But for hands-on teaching and craft, sometimes a good old face-to-face is much, much better.
I understand, and I thank you for Killing the Sacred Cows. It is great reading. However, it is just too far to travel from Australia to attend one of your classes.
