Last day of a very crazy and fun July. And yes, I have been writing and the amount of writing has been gaining speed as the month went on. And it feel great, even with all the distractions.
I did get the first story completely through the process, including the new proofing process, but haven’t put it up here yet because of all the other things going on, including a week of workshops here, a ton of work on Fiction River, and also getting next year’s workshops finalized (including the brand new online workshops). And yes, it is a Poker Boy story.
With everything planned in July, I expected to start slow, which I always do on something like this. But the key is that I got started.
So subscribers, you will be getting at least six books. Maybe more. One or two will be brand new stories, a number will be brand new books with the first challenge stories in them, and a surprise or two. I hope to have them all shipped to me by CreateSpace by the 10th and then they will go off to all the subscribers by the next morning. If they go out later than that, I will let everyone know here.
Tomorrow, I will announce the new workshop schedule, including a number of online workshops we are starting. And then maybe later this weekend I will put up the first finished challenge story from Challenge Two here. And then quickly behind it will be the second story and the third. At the pace I’m writing now, I plan to finish about ten stories in August. Maybe more. Of course, subscribers will get them all.
Again, thanks for all the support with Fiction River. We have stretch goals set now and will be adding in new rewards for pledges every few days. And, of course, we will keep everyone who pledged updated. Thanks!

Sounds like thinks are going great at your end. I’m really looking forward to reading the first story.
You asked me to keep you updated on my own challenge (52 short stories in the second half of this year). I wrote 10 short stories last month, and spent the morning today submitting them to pro or semi-pro markets (depending on the genre).
Great fun
