Ask somebody at the con to give you directions to Michael Moore’s winery, Blackwood Canyon. Known as “The Wine Nazi,” this guy produces wines outstanding enough that he sells shares in them — you wait until the aging is done to get delivery. He’s bright, off-beat, and if you go, take the ten buck tasting — it includes cheeses and other tidbits to showcase the wines.
At one point, I climbed ten feet up the stacked barrels with him to tap a barrel to taste.
