Day 28 of this Writing in Public challenge.
Day seven of the novel.
Another really busy day, which I hope will clear a little this weekend so I can get a run at this book. More than likely this book feels like it will be too long to finish in ten days as I hoped with the pace I’ve been on the last four days and the slow first day. So it might go for eleven or twelve days to get it done.
I’ll do another novel later in September and see if I can hit the ten day number then. However, not done yet, so who knows. I’ve been known to sprint at the end. (grin)
Day went like this: Rolled out around 1 p.m., got a bunch of e-mail done, plumber showed up and I worked with him (actually, I watched him and walked the hill a few times) put in a new water line from our house down to the road.
Then off to the mail, grabbed some lunch, and went to WMG Publishing where I worked on the most recent lecture called Practice. Then home for nap and dinner and news. I did a bunch of homework, then up to WMG Publishing by around 8:30 p.m. to record the response and finish the new lecture.
I will announce the new lecture called “Practice” tomorrow in anyone is interested in learning more on how to practice your writing. And there are still openings in the new Personal Strength online workshop I announced yesterday if anyone is interested.
Got the work up at WMG Publishing done by 11 p.m. and came home, took a break, watched some television, then back to my writing office by 12:30 a.m. I was a little slow getting started because the book had sort of ground down to nothing.
So off I went to lay down on the couch in the living room and after fifteen minutes there I suddenly realized what I needed to do. Back to the computer.
Amazing what giving up and laying down will do for the creative mind when stuck. (grin)
In four sessions I did about a thousand words per session, with breaks between sessions, so got 4,150 words by a little after 4 a.m.
I seem to be stuck in that 3,000 to 4,000 word range when I have a really packed day of work, which has been the last four days.
But thankfully, I think I know where this book is headed. Sort of. But that should help me pick up speed a little now.
