Anyone Want to Listen to Me Talk About Writing?

Kevin Tumlison, on his Wordslinger Podcast, talked to me about my book Writing into the Dark. And about writing in general.

Fun conversation since Kevin and I think very much alike in this area. You can listen to it at:

Thanks, Kevin!!!

Second…

A study has come out about creative types.  You can find it at…  http://bit.ly/2t6KUfb

Why I am pointing this out is because the conclusions (after 40 years of study) are that no writer knows their own work and the more you write, the better chance you have at success. Go figure.

Here is a quote from the summary of the study on one point.

“One of the attributes of creative people says Prof. Dean Simonton – a University of California academic who’s been researching creativity for over 40 years – is that they have an extraordinarily poor sense of whether the thing they’re creating, inventing or making is any ‘good’ or not.

In fact, Simonton thinks that it’s virtually impossible for anyone involved in a creative project to know for sure whether they’re making a masterpiece – or just a mess.”

Kind of fun to have what Kris and I have been trying to teach and say for decades now proven with studies. Still won’t make anyone deep in the myths change an opinion. But fun for me to see. (grin)

EXERCISE UPDATE

For one week now, seven days, my daily average has been over 5 miles (10,000 steps). Today I did 13,700 steps, which is 6.5 miles at my stride. Not even feeling it and it wasn’t difficult and didn’t hurt my weak knee, so all good.
