    Still Braced…

Getting Some Exercise… We were scheduled for a 3.8 mile charity run today. Kris and Ron and Lisa Collins and Brigid Collins did the entire thing. I walked to the aid station at 1.2 miles and turned around so managed  2.4 miles of exercise. Beautiful day, fun lunch afterward. Here are some pictures. (These blogs are short since I am still typing one handed,) Kris with her medal… Ron and Lisa finishing. Me hanging up the medal they gave me just for being out there

    Pulphouse #23…

Published Today!!! Great stories as normal and #23 features a brand new Spade Paladin Conundrum novelette by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. You can grab a copy on the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine store. The store also has all the back issues and also all the Pulphouse anthologies and some really cool merchandise. As for the stories coming in every month from the Kickstarter prompts, thanks for understanding that I have been delayed reading for some strange reason. (grin) I will start reading again shortly. Grab the new issue A good one, but I would say that because as editor I like them all.

    Glittering Lights Pajama Run…

My Favorite Run Every Year… Through massive holiday lights under and around the Las Vegas Speedway. And hundreds of families in matching pjs. Really cute and a great way to start off the holiday season. Wasn’t sure I could make it this year after the surgery just over a week ago, but I did. I didn’t run, of course. But I walked the mile without problems with a lot of families. Great fun. Here are some pictures. Kris putting on her Santa hat Writers Ron and Brigid Collins Me and my finisher medal. Kind of proud of this one. Kris hanging up her medal

    Alive and Still Moving…

Wonderful Dinner… At Resorts World (location of the anthology workshop in July) with Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta. Anf, of course, Kris. My first real outing. Back with the doc tomorrow to see how things are going and to start PT on my new artificial shoulder. I learned tonight that in the hospital the first time and other times along the way someone would look at my age and ask Kris if I could stand, did a I fall trying to get the remote or something like that, and she would have to tell them over and over that I tripped and fell running full speed in a 5K…

    We Went Running (and Walking)

The Zombie Run… Great fun every year. Lots of kids and parents dressed up, and this year a new course which after I got past grumping at all the hills I had to admit was better. I still have a very sore foot, so this was going to be a 5K walk for me. And I was a long ways from finishing last. Kris ran the entire way and there were a lot of hills do I am impressed. Then we had a great dinner afterward. So a fun evening. Lot of pictures below and Kris will have more on her Facebook page tomorrow. 6

    My Star Trek Writing

A Blast From the Past I wrote this is July of 2012, eleven years ago. I had been indie publishing my own stuff for three years at that point and WMG had become a corporation in May of that year. I was solidly in my blog streak. So thought this would be interesting to bring forward just for historical perspective… July 2012… Last week in the mail I got this huge packet of royalty statements from Pocket Books. Now understand, when I say huge, I mean huge. Maybe 200 pages. I’ve written shorter novels to be honest. These statements are only for the books I did with Pocket Books that are…

Aces Game Two of the Finals…

A Superteam in Action… The Liberty are a great team, zero doubt, but the Aces are one of those once-in-a-generation teams and wow are they fun to watch in THE HOUSE. That’s what they call their stadium and it was packed, full sell-out, and more screaming and shouting and cheering than I have ever heard. Game started at 6 pm and at one point in the first quarter the Aces were up by 30 points. First quarter… That was fantastic fun with the crowd. Maybe the best quarter of basketball I have ever watched in my lifetime. Liberty made a show of a run in the second quarter and then…

    Las Vegas Aces

Championship WMBA Team… The Aces are trying to repeat as champions and played today against the New York Liberty in the first game of the championship series. They are the leagues two super teams. Game started at noon and for the first half it might have been the best basketball I have ever watched between two great teams. Just stunning. Aces down at one point by eight points. Then in the second half the Aces hit full afterburners and came from five points down to at one time being over twenty points ahead. It went from stunning basketball to “Are you kidding me?” fantastic levels on the Aces side. Blocked…
