Novel Three: Day Four

Back Up To Speed…

(As a reminder, the overall monthly challenge is to write four novels and gain distance every week on my step count, starting the first week at an average of 11,000 steps per day.)

Finally got back up and running today. Both on work stuff and on the novel.

The Day Went Like This…

I managed to get to WMG offices and the north store around 3:30 p.m. after a full hour of e-mail stuff. Then the guys unloaded my car of the stuff I found yesterday picking and Matt and I headed out for a walk.

I managed 11,200 steps today. The 13,000 steps isn’t a physical problem, just a time problem.

Got back to the WMG offices right at 5:30 and spent until 7:30 there working on workshop stuff and sort some stuff in the store.

Then to the grocery store and home to take a ten minute nap, then cook dinner.

I got in here to do more e-mail, work on a bundle, and do reading for the challenge at 10 p.m.

Right at midnight I made myself stop and move over to my writing computer. I managed 900 words before I needed to rest my eyes, so another nap, a little television, and I was back in here a little before 2 a.m.

I got 1,400 words done before 2:45 a.m.

Short break, another 1,300 words done before 3:30 a.m.

The book was hammering forward. Wonderful fun after the crazy start.

After another short break, I had another 1,300 words done by 4:30 a.m.

Short break, another 1,300 words again (three sessions in a row), this time finishing for the night at 5:45 a.m.

Made it over 6,000 words as I needed to do.

And just went past over 100,000 words of fiction this month. (That pulp 5 speed just for fiction.)

6,200 words in 5 sessions.

Sweet, Dean! You’re an inspiration. I’m trying to tag along here, writing and exercising. Instead of steps, I went paddle boarding yesterday, and earned myself a bit of sunburn and a strained knee from paddleboard yoga (because it’s harder on a wiggly surface…). Had fun though, and I’m all refreshed to write some more. Temps here are in the 90’s. I wouldn’t mind some of your murky weather just about now!
