Starting Up… Here We Go…

TRACKING EVERYTHING PLUS A CHALLENGE…

All starting up again as many of you have asked me to do for a time.

So I will be tracking writing, exercise, and also a new short story challenge for at least this month and maybe longer. Also sort of going over what I did each day so you can see how crazy my life is and how I still manage to write a bunch.

And I will continue with The Magic Bakery book as well.

The Day…

A good day overall. Got up to WMG in the middle of the afternoon after doing some e-mail. Then after a little work there and in our north store, I went out for a walk to the grocery store to get some lunch.

Worked in my office while I ate lunch, then headed to the south store to spend some time there and then go to the auction that is across a parking lot from our south store.

In the auction I got a nifty Coca Cola wall sign for $10 (worth about $100), an antique display case for $70 (worth about $400), a box of jewelry for $7 (worth about $300 or more in resale), a wonderful dress coat for me for $10 (worth a good $200) and two wonderful coats for a friend for $10 (also worth about $200).  And I had a blast. I bid on a lot of stuff that went too high.

While I was out there I got steps in for my milage. (I tend to stand near the back with a couple other store owners and when there is something up I’m not interested in I walk.)

Then home to cook dinner for me and Kris, then we watched a movie for a few hours after I finished the last of my steps to hit my five miles for the day.

Then around 1:30 a.m. I got up here in this office and did some workshop stuff and email, then around 3 p.m. (a little late for what I was hoping… I want to get there around 1 a.m. every night) I got to my writing computer.

I found a half title from an old magazine. “Not Easy to Kill…”  I smashed it against a half title from another magazine… “the Light Next Door.” Typed in the title “Not Easy to Kill the Light Next Door” and put “A Bryant Street Story under the title.

Then started typing.

I took a break at 4 a.m. with 700 words done, went back to it and finished the 1,700 word story by 5 a.m. and printed it and have it for Kris to read tomorrow.

So a good start to the month.

New Challenge

I need short stories for Smith’s Monthly as I work to get caught up and instead of digging through old files, I figured it would be a ton more fun to write them fresh.

So I am working to write at least one short story per day for the month of April.

I will do covers for each story as I go along like I did with the Stories from July a few years back and post them here after the first two or three are done.
