Writing in Public: Month 8, Day 9

Month 8, Day 9 of this Writing in Public challenge.

As expected, not a bunch of fiction writing today. This was the big cross-over day for the Feb workshops last week and March workshops 1st week. It happens about once every three months, so I expected more work today. No big deal.

I managed to roll out around 1 p.m., so almost have the sleep schedule back on track. Finally. Made it to the writer’s lunch at 2 p.m. and stayed there until around 4 p.m. I worked at WMG in my office there for a short time and then headed home to get more of a jump on the workshop stuff.

I worked on it until Kris got there with the groceries at 5:30 p.m. I helped here with those and then took the white cat and headed for a nap, followed by dinner, news, and back into this office. Even though Kris cooked, she offered to do the dishes as well since she knew how much work I had to do.

So I worked through the e-mail and then just kept going, taking breaks every hour until around 11:30 p.m. when I headed downstairs to watch some television. Made it back here and back to the workshop stuff around 1 a.m.  I finally got it all done and some other workshop stuff left over from last week done as well by 2:30 a.m.

Thankfully, a day like that only happens every few months or I wouldn’t do these workshops. (grin) I finally got working on the stuff I need to turn in for proofing on Smith’s Monthly #7 and did about 500 new words of fiction on one of the serial stories that are running in the issues.

But that took around 2 hours total, so I’m calling it a night around 4:30 a.m.  Finally back on schedule. Finally.

So a lot done, but not a lot of fiction writing yet, but I’m not discouraged at all. I’ll fire up here as the week goes on now that I am back on schedule and have some fun for the last twenty some days of the month.

One Response to Writing in Public: Month 8, Day 9

  1. Somehow, the idea that getting up at noon is a sleep schedule back in order offends my sensibilities. And that’s with me having followed your blog for near-on a year, now. But if talking to other writers has taught me one thing, it is that we all, every single one of us, work differently. :)

In any case, I’m glad to hear you’ll be getting back to the writing. I’ve sort of been having a private competition with your fiction wordcount, but there hasn’t been much competition lately!
