2020 Las Vegas Workshops Announced!!

Some Fantastic Workshops!!!

We are a few months late announcing these this year, but now we are ready to go. We wanted to wait and find out first how the large master class went here in Las Vegas in October and then the smaller craft workshops taught by Kris here in January.

The verdict? About a million times better than the coast.

Everything is easier, flights are cheaper, rooms nicer and without ghosts, and the food is available in hundreds of choices for every allergy and diet.

It is more expensive for WMG Publishing to do, but we think the extra costs are worth it for the writers attending.

You can get all sorts of more information on www.wmgworkshops.com

HOW TO SIGN UP…

If you have been accepted to a workshop on the coast or here in Las Vegas, you are automatically invited to any of these you can make. A word of caution. These will all fill. So at least get your name on the list and payment guarantees you a spot.

So if you have been to an in-person workshop before on the coast or here, all you have to do is tell me at dean.wmgworkshops@gmail.com that you would like to sign up and for which workshop and then pay through Paypal the $750 workshop fee to:

lasvegasworkshops@wmgbooks.com

(Note, this is a different Paypal address than before.)

If you have never been to a coast or Las Vegas workshop before, just write me directly with a bit about your writing and your publishing and which workshop you would like to attend and Kris and I will let you know.

(Note: All fees paid are fully refundable up to 30 days ahead of most of the workshops (November for Anthology) for any reason, or can be exchanged for other workshops online or Las Vegas.)

FIRST THE TWO 2019 WORKSHOPS

WITH OPEN SPOTS…

The Romance Craft Workshop in September 2019. The morning of the 20th to the evening of the 24th. $750.

This has just two spots left. If you have ever had a desire to learn how to write romance or add romance in all its forms into your writing, Kristine Grayson (aka Kristine Kathryn Rusch) can certainly teach you how. Remember, craft workshops are very intense, but yet a lot of fun. Details at www.wmgworkshops.com

Reading list will go out in late May.

MASTER BUSINESS CLASS in October 2019. The morning of the 25th to the morning of the 30th. $750.

Led by professional writers and editors Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Dean Wesley Smith, Mark Leslie Lefebvre, Allyson Longueira, and many others, this workshop will have many guest instructors on various topics critical to writers in this modern world.

Guest instructors will be announced, but you can see who has confirmed at www.wmgworkshops.com

We often have upwards of ten different professionals who are experts in one area of another helping teach this week.

This is a business workshop. No writing, but a notebook full of notes and a lot of training. In fact, every topic a writer can imagine needing to be covered will be in this week at one point or another by experts. From cash flow to increasing sales to SEO to website design to cover and interior book design to blurbs to publisher catalogs to distribution of paper books to stores to production to learning how to write more to audio to overseas sales to contracts to bundles to… So much more.

This workshop will have a focus on selling more books, indie publishing, the business of indie and hybrid, and everything that has changed and progressed since the last business master class.

There will be a focus on networking between all the writers attending. Lunches with experts, group breakfasts, time to talk, small group breakout sessions at times, and so on. Plus a penthouse suite at night for everyone to gather and just talk.

If you attended the last Business Master Class, YES this will be worth coming to because it will contain so much more and so much has changed.

Every business master class has been different and this will be yet again another different workshop focused on the new world of publishing. This will be a real event workshop. Just the week of networking with 50 other professional writers is worth the costs.

These all sound great, Dean. You and Kris have a lot of work ahead of you!

    Which ones are study-along, please?

    • dwsmith

Julie, the craft workshops taught by Kris have Study Along versions on Teachable that are there now and can be signed up for on Teachable.

Keep in mind that all those craft workshops basically start three or four months ahead of the date because of the reading list Kris gives out. The Romance workshop in September basically starts at the end of May. And so on. Both for the in-person workshops and the Study Alongs.
