A Fun Event Today

The Big Expo…

Kris and I spent a large part of our afternoon not only getting into the Las Vegas Convention Center, but then picking up our bibs and all the bling and such for the runs this coming weekend. (We came away with 6 shirts from the thing.

We are both going to run the 5k on Saturday evening. Then on Sunday I’m going to do the half-marathon. 13.1 miles or so. I had planned on the full marathon, but I can’t finish it in five hours which is the limit they allow before they open back up all the roads.

Besides, I am still too heavy and I need more training. So next year at 69 years of age I do the marathon.

The run starts in the middle of the Strip at 4 p.m. or so, runs out past the airport on The Strip, then turns around and runs the entire distance of The Strip and through the downtown before going back out the Strip to end in front of the Mirage. All under the lights with the road closed.

And bands every mile. It is the Rock and Roll Marathon after all. 50,000 people running this weekend. Great fun!

And there will be pictures. (grin)

So besides a bunch of business and workshop stuff, that was my day.

I wish you a lot of fun running. 🙂

Just wondering, how is your “living at pulp speed five” challenge going?

Restarted on November 1st and just finished a short novel that was hanging from the first start. So tomorrow morning I get to start the first novel of the ten. So a slow start. But got a bunch worked out, so better. (grin)
