May Half Gone So A Summary Day

Time is Speeding Right Along…

Workshop Summary…

— First off, the special cover branding workshop with Allyson is now full. Sorry if you missed it.

— The special prices for lectures I have listed below will be ending soon.

— And the Strengths Workshops will close at some point for new sign-ups. If questions, write me.

— Two spots open in the novel challenge starting June 1st. No openings in the short story workshop challenge. (And the four writers in May are doing great and I’m enjoying reading the stories.)

That’s the workshop and challenge summary. May speeding right along.

Personal Summary…

I hope to power on the novel and have it finished by the weekend, then finish up another that was mostly done and get three issues of Smith’s Monthly to WMG Publishing. Heads-up Patreon supporters, lots of stuff headed your way over the next four months.

I will fire up on two novels a month for the next six months.

I will also finish The Magic Bakery book and get it into WMG. Also the book I did in January about writing a novel in five days on the road will get turned in as well. As I said, Patreon supporters, heads-up. (grin)

I am also working on reading and putting together the first five issues of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. More on that later because I have a bunch of people to contact first.

Also over the last five days I have given exercise more of a focus and cut down on calories and eaten better food in the process, so weight is starting down off this point I have been stuck. I hope to be running regularly by the end of the month.

Goal: Half marathon in July, another in September, then the full marathon in Vegas in November. Finishing that one in under five hours (the race cut-off) at the age of 67 will be something pretty cool, if I can pull it off. We shall see.

“Two spots open in the novel challenge starting June 1st. No openings in the short story workshop challenge.”

Is there still a spot open for this challenge?

Here’s the deal: I’m a full-time vocational writer who writes mostly religious non-fiction, but have written three religious fiction books, and am 50% through the first of a new series and think this challenge is what I need to finish that one as well as the next 2 fiction books.

For some reason I can totally project manage and set/meet deadlines for my client work—not a problem writing for other peoples’ deadlines. But when it comes to writing to deadline for my own works…I struggle! So I thought it would be a triple bonus to pay to have your expert insights as a first reader, get 2 of your courses (if I win), and put some outside accountability in place‚ albeit paid accountability 🙂

Anyway, I think this would be good for me as my summer has opened up and I think I can finish the one novel and write two more—which sure would be a boon for my fiction career. If not no prob, but thought I’d check.

PS—Would the recent branding/cover workshop be on the table in the fall with Allison for one of the course prizes, if you do that course again?

      Jeremy,

Actually, still have those two spots open. And honestly, your reasoning sounds very sound. So just write me if you have my e-mail or go through the contact link above and I’ll get back to you. Jump on in, the water is fine. (grin)

As for Allyson’s course, I doubt we’ll do it again. We’ll see how it goes this one time. She is one of the busiest people I know and this is going to take some time out of her schedule.
