Challenge,  On Writing,  publishing,  Smiths Monthly

Story Twenty-Six

DAY TWENTY-SIX…

As I said last night, on my wall here in the office is a breakdown of the Smith’s Monthly issues I am working on. Ten issues ahead. I have started to put some of that on the widget to the side of the posts, and will update all that in a week.

Patreon folks and subscribers, you will be getting ten issues over the next five months as I get caught up. (grin)

For three years I tried to start off most issues with a Poker Boy story, but have only written one and have two others. So for the ten issues on the board that will come out as quickly as I can write novels between now and September, I have decided to start each issue with a different series.

The Marble Grant series. So for the second time in two days, I knew which series I wanted to write in. This will be the 8th Marble Grant story.

And tonight I started with a first line that popped into my head as I sat down. Forgot all about the title until I was done. Not normal for me.

So once again I got started around 2:30 in the morning.

And I went on a white-hot tear. I wrote 1,200 words in 30 minutes. That is light-speed for me.

Took a break to rest my poor hands, then did another 1,100 words by 4:00 a.m.

Another break, then another 800 words in thirty minutes, one more break and made it to the end at 4,000 words by 5:15 a.m.

Wow is writing this Marble Grant character fun. This story was about her team solving a really major case.

Wow, 26 short stories I flat didn’t have 26 days ago. This is far too much fun.

And I only have four people total signed up on the challenge I offered a week or so ago. Two for May, two for June. Jump in, the water is fine. (grin)
