The Decade Ahead: Second Quarter

Finally Some Posts In April…

It took clear to the end of April before I could figure out how to approach this quarter. I want this Decade Ahead class to help writers for years to come on their Teachable dashboards. Help them get through regular times, regular years for the next decade.

But at the same time, it is impossible to talk about how to get through April and May and June in this second quarter of 2020 without dealing with this pandemic.

So I decided to do both.

I am doing a series of videos that will be valuable in general and next April/May/June. Dealing with the Time of Great Forgetting and things like that. How to get through a normal May and keep writing.

But at the same time, I am doing a series of videos about how to keep writing and going through these pandemic months. How to get back focused, give your mind time and energy to write.

So there are eight new videos up in the Decade Ahead Second Quarter. There will be lots more in the next two months, including possibly a new pop-up that will be included in the class.

So check it out if you are not already in the Decade Ahead class on Teachable.

Thank you for this! I’ve listened to the regular videos so far; will listen to the pandemic half tomorrow.

On the subject of streaks…little gold stars are a great motivator! I’m now two? months in to using those to mark my word count for the day, and there have been some days I didn’t think I’d have time to write with everything else going on. The thought of not getting at least one gold star for the day drove me to the computer.

I really liked your reminder that we are providing a much-needed escape for the rest of the country. It’s true the rest of the time as well, but particularly now. And it’s a great comeback for my critical voice when it starts nattering that there are surely far more important things I could be doing while we’re all stuck at home.

    Stay safe!
